MalayMalay is spoken by over 250 million people in Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia and Southern Thailand.
Although various forms of Chinese and Indian languages are widely spoken in Malaysia, Malay is the official language and should be used for all communications except where a specific minority group is targeted. It is also known as Bahasa Malay. The spoken language varies a great deal according to dialects in Java, Sumatra, Bali and other areas. Malay uses only the Roman alphabet.
