    Thai

Thai is the official language of Thailand. A number of varied languages are spoken within the country's borders, but 85% speak a variant of official Thai.

Thai is made up of of monosyllabic words, and is a tonal language with five different pitches used to give meaning to words.

It has a unique script, derived by a 13th century king from ancient Indian writing systems. There are no spaces between words in Thai, only between phrases.

Thai script can be typeset in English Quark and PDF. Output with embedded fonts is possible, but the results are unpredictable and final artwork needs to be proofed by a Thai-speaker before printing.
