Staff Profile - Sherry Zhu, Beijing Project ManagerSherry Zhu originally joined Asian Absolute as a Simplified Chinese editor in the Beijing office. After 6 months she was keen to broaden her horizons and transferred over to the busy life of a project manager. In this role she is responsible for the quality and timely delivery of multilingual projects for a variety of clients including Prudential and Jones Lang LaSalle, as well as Asian Absolute London's operations team. Coming from an editing background, by the time she joined the project management team Sherry was already skilled in the use of Computer Aided Translation tools from a translator's perspective. Since then she has developed her understanding of how these tools are utilised in project management processes, as well as getting to grips with the details of the various typesetting and web engineering processes involved in her projects. "It's been wonderful to join a dynamic and professional team at Asian Absolute," says Sherry "and I am delighted to have the opportunity to meet clients and vendors from so many different countries." Sherry originally comes from Jiangxi Province in the South-East of China, and has lived in Beijing since going to Beijing International Studies University to study for a bachelors degree in English and Marketing. Upon graduating, Sherry attended another leading Chinese university, Renmin University, where she gained a masters degree in Law. During her studies Sherry spent most of her spare time working as a part-time translator, translating three books and numerous shorter documents. Sherry loves sports and travelling, in particular badminton and mountaineering, which take up the majority of her free time these days. When that all gets too much, reading a book on a quiet afternoon is also a favourite pastime for Sherry.
