Asian Absolute, the UK’s largest specialist supplier of Asian language services, has this year moved to its third premises in Beijing. The company has developed its operational capacity in China significantly and has outgrown two premises in the central business district. The most recent move in March 2006 saw the team move from Soho New Town to the up and coming Jianwai Soho development. The move is reflective of Asian Absolute’s steady expansion, and came shortly before the company obtained WOFE (Wholly Owned Foreign Enterprise) status for its Beijing operation.

WOFE status enables Asian Absolute to offer its top-end localisation services to clients within mainland China for the first time, a significant milestone for a company whose activity has been closely linked to the growth of the Asia Pacific markets. The establishment of a sales and marketing team in Beijing will have a notable impact on the growth of the business, and the recent office expansion is just one of several steps taken to manage rapidly growing demand.

Beijing is an ideal setting for Asian Absolute’s expansion. With the 2008 Olympic games approaching, the world spotlight is fixed firmly on the flourishing metropolis. The city’s landscape is changing every day, with new buildings and architectural innovations springing up along the horizon. The Jianwai Soho complex is just one of these new projects. Jianwai Soho is located opposite the China World Trade Centre and was designed by Riken Yamamoto, an esteemed Japanese architect. The complex is part of Soho China, the development project headed by Beijing entrepreneur Pan Shiyi. It is a striking development and has attracted much interest and enthusiasm from Beijing residents.
