Asian Absolute was requested to localize a variety of e-learning modules which they had produced for one of the world’s largest banks. They contracted Asian Absolute to handle the translation of a monthly newsletter created in the Newsweaver Content Management System into over 30 languages, mainly European and Asian languages, as well as Arabic and Hebrew.

Translating for the Police - A large-scale translation project

Our client is a police force who needed evidence for a criminal trial translated quickly from English into Simplified Chinese, and later into Traditional Chinese for Hong Kong. The evidence was provided in many different formats – from police notebooks to mobile phone messages to hours of interview transcripts. The translation needed to be accurate, with UK-specific concepts expressed in meaningful Chinese, and with names and terms used consistently across a large volume of documents.

Our client is a well-known international Business Process Outsourcing company who needed a 160,000+ word financial report translated from Chinese into English for an investment bank - within a rigid turnaround time of 3 working days. Asian Absolute first committed to take on a quarter of the volume… however, and much to the client's relief, we ended up taking on the whole project after other vendors dropped out.

One of our high profile UK clients in the banking sector takes Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) very seriously, which is one of the reasons we're proud to work with them so closely. In addition to the annual report on their banking activities, they also choose to produce a website which acts as an online report on their activities in the field of sustainability, including community investment. We translated it into 7 languages for them.
