Asian Absolute's Management Team
Henry Clough, Managing Director
Henry established Asian Absolute in 2000, having spent many years living in Hong Kong and Beijing. He now divides his time between Asian Absolute's London, Beijing and Melbourne offices.
As our current MD, Henry continues to work on key accounts, and enjoys putting together creative solutions for clients with unusual or especially challenging requirements.
Henry speaks fluent Mandarin (and rusty Cantonese, French and German). He is a closet techy who constantly torments our designers and engineers in his attempts to keep up to date with technology.
Tabara Dramé, General Manager, London
Tabara leads Asian Absolute's UK business, supporting clients in Europe and the US. Prior to joining Asian Absolute she was instrumental in developing project management workflows in two of the UK's largest generalist translation companies.
She holds both an MA in Bilingual Translation with Merit from the University of Westminster, London and an MSc in International Trade and Languages from Université François Rabelais of Tours, France.
Tabara speaks fluent English, French, Spanish and Wolof with good command of Arabic, plus pretty decent Italian and Portuguese - just to make the rest of us feel inferior!
Sherman Hu, General Manager, China
Thanks to his strong engineering background, Sherman has pulled Asian Absolute to the forefront of localization technology. Sherman's expertise is such that he was invited to co-author Peking University's textbook on Computer Aided Translation Technology in 2010, and in early 2006, he also contributed to the book "International Software Testing" for the L10N industry in China.
With previous roles heading up large engineering departments, Sherman provides the structure and process behind the rapid expansion of Asian Absolute's China operations.
Sherman speaks fluent Mandarin and English. A keen photographer, Sherman can be found at weekends hiking out to remote spots to find the perfect landscape shot.
Lucy Hu, Financial Controller
Before joining Asian Absolute, Lucy held a managerial position at Hewlett Packard and over the last 12 years has worked with a number of Fortune 500 IT companies in Beijing.
With her big-company experience, Lucy has enabled Asian Absolute to achieve rapid growth while maintaining financial stability. Thanks to the Lucy's processes and reporting systems, our management team is able to base decision-making on accurate and timely information on all aspects of the company's finances.
Lucy speaks fluent English and Mandarin. In her spare time, she really gets into Chinese Yaogu (waist drum) dance.
