Asian Absolute has successfully implemented an advanced project management database (PMDB) developed by fellow ATC member Sandberg Translation Partners (STP). Asian Absolute has a long history of practical co-operation with other ATC members, primarily the provision of Asian language translation services. STP provides Scandinavian language services to many of the same clients and the similarity between the requirements of the two companies has been a major factor in the project's success.

The PMDB will greatly increase efficiency through the numerous stages of project management, especially for the largest, most complex assignments for which watertight processes and reporting are essential. Allowing project managers to spend less time on routine tasks, it will enable them to focus their energies on providing the attentive, personal account management which remains one of the hallmarks of Asian Absolute.

Incorporating a powerful database of internal and external resources, the PMDB enables Asian Absolute's project managers to select from a vast pool to build teams of translators, editors and engineers according to the industry sector and functional requirements of each project. STP have incorporated Asian Absolute's existing supplier rating system into the database to ensure that the various aspects of each individual's performance are recorded for every project undertaken.

Allowing Asian Absolute's London and Beijing teams to access the same project and resource data locally, the PMDB has further integrated the two offices and brings significant benefits to clients who work with the company both in the UK and China. Clients are also noticing major improvements in communication and reporting, while many additional benefits will become apparent to clients only after many years. In short, implementation of the PMDB has increased productivity and consistency throughout Asian Absolute's operations.
