Burmese Translation ServicesBurmese being one of the less well known South East Asian languages, talented translators tend to be few and far between. Through networks in both the UK and Asia, we have gathered a number of high quality Burmese linguists, and offer translations both into and out of Burmese plus advice on the multiplex dialects employed in the region. While over 100 different languages are spoken in Burma, most people speak the official dialect Myanmar. Our translators provide expert Myanmar translations both into and out of English. In addition, dialects such as Shan, Karen and Mon are spoken by a large number of Burmese, but feature less frequently in official affairs. These represent ethnic groups, a number of whom consider themselves to be in opposition to the central administration on the basis of historical disputes. Corporate assignments involving these languages are thus rare and we would advise that you confirm your Burmese requirements carefully. However, in addition to our Myanmar linguists, we have a number translators and interpreters who specialise not only in these, but in specific sub-dialects. We are happy to offer advice on specific linguistic requirements if necessary. While Burmese bears some resemblance to other South East Asian languages, its distinct development began over a thousand years ago and it is unique. The writing system - Myanmar script - grew and derived from an Indian script and there are over 33 characters which correspond to astronomical beliefs. The set of rounded characters remains from a time when straight lines would have torn the palm leaves that the script was written on. Nowadays, handling of the distinctive characters can still be a tricky business if you do not have the appropriate fonts and software. As well as translation, we are equipped to manage and cope with the variables involved in Burmese typesetting and artwork, enabling you to leave the entirety of your project in our hands. We offer Burmese translation services for all types of material, including:
We are always happy to manage long-term or multi-language projects, and to discuss your translation requirements in person.
